National Science Foundation Awards IntelliSafe Analytics SBIR Phase I Grant to Develop Human-Centered Safety System to Protect Workers

IntelliSafe Analytics is developing new, human-centered safety systems using physiological and behavioral sensing from wearable devices to predict and prevent workplace accidents.

Pittsburgh, PA, – IntelliSafe Analytics, LLC, is pleased to announce that they have been awarded a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to conduct further research on IntelliSafe Analytics’ highly innovative technology that utilizes the human body’s built-in abilities to sense and respond to workplace safety hazards. IntelliSafe Analytics collects behavioral and physiological information from workers using advanced wearable technology.  This information becomes the engine of their Artificial Intelligence models to identify workplace hazards and predict and prevent workplace accidents. The funding will allow the company to conduct research and development activities and to develop safety systems that address the human factor side of safety, which accounts for more than 80% of all workplace accidents.

“With the help of America’s Seed Fund powered by the National Science Foundation, IntelliSafe Analytics is working to fully protect the world’s workforce by addressing aspects of workplace safety that have not improved in several decades,” said IntelliSafe Analytics’ Founder and CEO Daniel Timco. “We’re not just developing hardware, AI, and software. We’re developing a safety system that reads and interprets the human body’s God-given abilities to protect itself from danger.  80% or more of all safety accidents are human-factor related…I think it’s time we start listening to what the “human” worker tells us,” added Timco.

This innovative technology will change how companies protect their workers, helping to ensure people go home safely at the end of each workday.
