IntelliSafe Analytics Presented at Carolinas AGC Technology Series
Title: Human-Centered Safety Systems Using Physiological and Behavioral Sensing to Predict and Prevent Workplace Accidents.
Members gained insights into the work being done to develop safety technologies that better protect workers. The presentation will highlight the use of advanced, research-grade wearable technology to collect physiological and behavioral data from workers, which becomes the engine for AI models to identify potential hazards in real time.
These types of safety systems enable continuous, automated methods of safety reporting. This is critical to enabling prediction and prevention activities that eliminate safety accidents in the workplace. These types of advanced safety systems have the greatest potential to address the human factor-related causes of safety accidents, which account for the majority of all safety accidents.
This technology addresses many, if not all, of the root causes of safety incidents, including:
- Lifting Stress / Overexertion
- Slips, Trips & Falls
- Impairment
- Heat Stress / Cold Stress
- Fatigue
- Distraction
- Vibration
- Noise
- Gait
- Inactivity
- Contact with equipment
- Smoke
- Oxygen deficiency
- Violence
- Stress
- Sickness and Social Distancing
- Repetitive movements
Carolinas AGC (CAGC) is a construction trade association made up of contractors and construction-related firms that perform work in North Carolina and South Carolina. CAGC is a chapter of the AGC of America (AGC) and the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA).
